February 14, 2008, 27 victims
A 27-year-old former student entered a classroom with 150 to 200 university students and shot and killed 5 people and wounded 18 others before killing himself. The offender was a graduate student at another Illinois university at the time of the incident.

December 14, 2012, 30 victims
A 20-year-old killed his mother and then entered an elementary school with multiple firearms where he killed 20 children and 6 adults before killing himself.

February 14, 2018, 31 victims
A 19-year-old former student entered the high school with an AR-15 style semi-automatic rifle and killed 17 individuals and wounded 14 others.

May 18, 2018, 20 victims
A 17-year-old high school student killed 10 people and wounded 10 others using a shotgun and firearm owned by his father. Authorities also found pipe booms, pressure cookers, and at least one unlit Molotov cocktail in and around the school.

November 30, 2021, 11 victims
A 15-year-old high school student shot and killed four individuals and wounded seven others.

February 15, 2019 – 12 victims
A 45-year-old male employee of the Henry Pratt Company entered the manufacturing company and shot and killed five of his co-workers and injured six police officers before being killed by police. The employee was being fired at the time of the shooting.

April 15, 2021, 14 victims
A 19-year-old male shot and killed 8 individuals and injured 5 more before killing himself. The shooter, a prior employee of the FedEx facility had decided to commit the act to “demonstrate his masculinity and capability” after failing to live on his own. He had been suicidal prior to the shooting.

November 19, 2018, 4 victims
A 32-year-old male arrived at Mercy Hospital to confront a woman with whom he had been previously romantically involved. After shooting her, he entered Mercy Hospital and shot another victim as she exited the elevator. He also shot a police officer who responded to the shooting. The gunman was later shot and killed by police.

August 3, 2019, 48 victims
A 21-year-old drove more than 11 hours to the Walmart in El Paso, Texas with the specific goal of killing Hispanic customers. The shooting resulted in 22 individuals dead and 26 injured.

March 16, 2020, 9 victims
A 21-year-old went on a shooting spree in the Atlanta area, killing 8 victims across three different spas and injuring one. The shooter told police that he was addicted to sex and wanted to “eliminate” “temptation.”

May 28, 2021, 9 victims
A 57-year-old entered his workplace and killed nine co-workers before killing himself. The gunman appeared to target specific co-workers, had previously written about his dislike towards his employer, and had been in possession of books about terrorism.
